Jimmy Settle — a Past President of the UT-Martin Alumni Council, and current Director of Communications for the City of Clarksville, Tennessee — has authored the third edition of the official history book for Clarksville and Montgomery County. Entitled, "Historic Clarksville: 1784-2024," the book released December 4, 2025. Mr. Settle, an award-winning veteran journalist in northern middle Tennessee, spent many years as a writer and editor for The Clarksville Leaf-Chronicle, and USA Today/Gannett. He resides in Dover, Tennessee, with his wife, Rona.
