Q&A with Tiffany

Some of my favorite memories at UTM revolve around the excitement of Homecoming week. Despite the late-night practices, the experience of participating in Lip Sync, decorating for Quad City, and cheering on our Pyramid girls and Skyhawks brought us closer together. Being surrounded by some of my closest friends always felt like a big hangout. It was a fun way to kick off the year and meet new people!

I truly would not be where I am with my business without UTM. Having a major in Fashion Merchandising and a minor in Marketing really laid a solid foundation for my career. The knowledge and skills I gained through these programs have been instrumental in shaping my professional journey. UTM provided a well-rounded education and supportive community that helped me navigate the challenges of entrepreneurship and helped me achieve so many milestones!

Since graduating from UT martin, I have achieved a variety of opportunities that have shaped my career. Through my career journey, I became the department manager at Anthropologie in Memphis. Then relocated to Paducah, KY, to work as a fashion merchandiser for H&M. And during this time, the COVID-19 pandemic hit, prompting me to take a leap and start my own apparel business, The Clandestine Underground!

Make the most of your time at UTM by immersing yourself in both academic and extracurricular activities. Your major will provide you with essential knowledge, but it’s the hands-on experiences and built relationships are what truly set you apart. Don’t be afraid to take risks and follow your passions. The skills and connections you gain through these activities will be invaluable in your future career!
