I Heart UTM Week

The University of Tennessee at Martin will host “I Heart UTM” week April 15-19, 2024, to celebrate Skyhawk spirit and community support. UTM Alumni is proud to sponsor the week-long celebration with the Student Alumni Council (SAC), UTM Flight Crew, Residence Life, Student Government Association (SGA), and the Care Team.

» Stock Captains Closet 

Dunagan Alumni Center
Help our Skyhawks dress for success and upcoming interviews by donating your gently used, nearly new professional attire to stock CPAD’s Captains Closet. Men’s and women’s clothing in all sizes needed. This includes: suits, dress shirts, dress pants, blazers, ties, skirts and professional shoes. Donations will be accepted all week Monday-Friday at the Dunagan Alumni Center and Student Life Office. An after-hours box will also be available.

» Chalk the Quad (Students, Faculty/Staff)

The Quad
Show your love for UTM and celebrate the week by helping us Chalk the Quad. We’re asking organizations, students, and departments on campus to create a chalk art masterpiece. The theme is UTM Spirit. Design must be suitable for public viewing. Take a photo of your art work when finished and submit it to alumni@utm.edu by Monday at 4 pm.

Social Media voting will begin on Tuesday at noon and end on Friday at noon so promote your artwork and get your friends to vote for their favorite chalk art by “liking” the original post. Photos will be posted on UTM Alumni Facebook & Instagram. Winners will be announced on Friday.

» Show your Skyhawk Spirit

Skyhawks near and far, send us a picture wearing your I Heart UTM shirt in your new hometown or your favorite local spot. Tag us @utmartinalumni on Facebook or Instagram, @utmalumni on Twitter, or send them via email to alumni@utm.edu. We will post our favorite submissions at the end of the week!

» Spot the Skyhawk

Be on the lookout for Captain Skyhawk to pop-up all-over Martin & Weakley County in our social media posts throughout the week. If you can name the location, you’ll be entered into a drawing for an I Heart UTM prize pack at the end of the week.

After online orders end, a limited availability of shirts will be available at the Dunagan Alumni Center beginning 8 a.m. Monday, April 8. Purchases will be available through card only, and $5 of your shirt order will be gifted to the university in celebration of I Heart UTM!

» Service Saturday – Letters to Legends (Student Event)

Students are encouraged to participate in our Service Saturday by sending letters of appreciation to donors of UTM! Materials will be available to write letters of gratitude to in the spirit of I Heart UTM Week.

Blankenship Recital Hall | 7:30 p.m.
The UTM Contemporary Music Group is a mixed student ensemble that performs a variety of music from the 20th and 21st centuries under the direction of Dr. Michael Mathenia. This year’s concert will include works by newer composers such as Andy Akiho, Michael Torke, and Donnacha Dennehy as well as more established composers such as Steve Reich and Arnold Schoenberg. With a diverse line-up of composers and musical styles, this concert is certain to have something for everyone!

Get ready to step into spring with the Healthy Hawks and Chancellor Freeman! We invite you to join us for a refreshing walk around the quad. Let’s embrace the sunshine and enjoy the outdoors together.

The walk will commence outside of the EPS Building, and we’ll embark on a leisurely stroll around the quad, soaking in the sights and sounds of our beautiful campus. Walking is not only a great way to stay active, but it also offers numerous health benefits, including improved cardiovascular health, reduced stress, and enhanced mood.

So, mark your calendars and lace up your walking shoes! Let’s make this walk a celebration of health, community, and the arrival of spring.

The Spring Voice Area Recital is a concert featuring all of the students taking voice lessons in the studios of Dr. Amy Yeung and Dr. Roberto Mancusi. This concert allows each student the opportunity to perform for the public while simultaneously showcasing our terrific voice students and their work through the academic year.

» Community Day

Student Alumni Council members will be traveling throughout Weakley County with special guest, Captain Skyhawk, to read “Baby Skyhawk” to local elementary school children. We encourage community members to show your Skyhawk spirit by purchasing an I Heart UTM shirt to wear or other UTM gear!

» Beach Volleyball vs. Eastern Illinois

» Spring Football Game Tailgate Party
